• Nekrolog. 3 Born on March 17, 1936 to the late Helge Victor and Edna Mae (Ryan) Mielde in Boston, he grew up in Brookville MA. He graduated from Sumner High School in Holbrook before enlisting in the United States Navy. Bob toured the Pacific aboard the USS Hornet touring Hawaii, Japan and other ports before finishing up in Patuxent River MD, where he met his good friend and future brother-in-law Dale. Upon his Honorable Discharge, Bob went to work at Sigma Instruments in Braintree.
On December 27th 1958, Bob married his sweetheart and wife of nearly 57 years, Patricia Ellen (Pendergrace). They settled in South Easton where they raised their family.
After a progressive stay of 28 years at Sigma, and several years at W.R. Grace, Bob was able to retire from the working world at age 55, enjoying quality time fishing, camping and time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed many relaxing years before losing his battle with a brief illness.
Bob is survived by his wife Pat, a son Bob Jr. and his wife Lori of Easton; a daughter Diane (Rideout) and her husband Scott of Quincy. He leaves his sister Carol (Walker) and her husband Dale. He was the brother of the late David Joseph. Bob enjoyed 5 grandchildren; Harry, Jamie, Kayla, Krystal and Michael as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Emmalin and Ava. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
