• Nekrolog, 2014. 2 Helle Schmith, b. 3 Sep 1941 in Kjellerup, Denmark, d. 7 Nov 2014 at home in Sechelt British Columbia. Helle came to Canada with her parents in 1950. She graduated from Vancouver Technical School in 1960 and went to work at St. Mary's Hospital in Pender Harbour as a nurse's aid. She qualified as a Practical Nurse and when the hospital moved to Sechelt in 1964, she was one of the first to live in the nurse's residence. She married in Vancouver in 1966 and had two sons. After her sons were in school, she returned to work as a nurse and qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1982. She loved her garden and became a Master Gardener in 1990. She divorced in 1993 and remarried in 1994. In 1999, she returned to Sechelt where she retired. She was predeceased by her parents, Torben Schmith and Tove Elise Stolt Rasmussen and is survived by her sons, Michael and Mark Grabowski and her husband, Paul Sigmundson. Deeply spiritual, kind and practical, she will be missed by all.
